Breeding has a long tradition in the agricultural research institutions of Romania.
At present, there are six crop plants national institutes with many branches in all main regions.
In our breeding programme, priority is given to the pest and disease resistance, better quality and adaptability to stress conditions. Thus, the main objective of the evaluation section is on achievement of the genetic pools for Romanian breeder.
